Singing black girl on Sesame Street

I wonder what happened to the little black girl.

Paul Simon appeared on Sesame Street during Season 8 (1976 - 1977), singing "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard".

The song was performed by the artist to a group of kids. One enthusiastic girl, seated near Paul on the stoop of 123 Sesame Street, improvises her own lyrics during the instrumental sections, and joins in, if slightly off, during other portions.

It sounds so fun! And I wonder if she grew up to sing just as enthusiastically as back then.

Check out the video here.

  1. Thanks so much! I've been seriously wondering th same thing about this girl. Either she practiced to the song a lot, or she was pretty damn gifted. I'm glad I'm not alone in obsessing as to whatever became of her!

  2. That kid was obnoxious. Probably influenced by a stage mother who kept telling her she is the star and should do anything to get on camera.
